Service interruption via startup socket hijacking
Published Aug 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Denial of service in Swisslog Healthcare HMI3 Control Panel before 7.2.5.7 allows remote attackers to interrupt the GUI service. At startup, HMI3 binds a local TCP service on every network interface and delays the GUI connection, allowing remote attackers to claim the socket first. The attack requires Ethernet connectivity and a restart-time race; a successful socket hijack prevents the GUI from connecting.
