Memory corruption via off-by-three stack overwrite
Published Aug 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Swisslog Healthcare Nexus Software before 7.2.5.7 allows remote attackers to corrupt HMI-3 panel memory. The tcpTxThread function copies received data into a stack buffer with an off-by-three boundary condition that writes beyond the buffer. The flaw is reachable by unauthenticated attackers on the local network, but the vendor does not state whether code execution or a crash results.
