CVE-2021-37160Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code installation via unsigned firmware upload

Published Aug 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper firmware validation in Swisslog Healthcare Nexus Panel before 7.2.5.7 allows remote attackers to install external code. The TLP20 firmware-update path writes UDP-delivered chunks to /tmp/app_download, checks only an MD5 value, and moves the image into flash without signature verification. An unauthenticated attacker on the local network can execute the replacement as root after reboot and persist until the SD card is manually re-imaged.
