Privilege escalation via authenticated Telnet command injection
Published Sep 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Command injection in Poly CX5100 and CX5500 firmware 1.3.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands with elevated privileges. The authenticated Telnet command handler accepts attacker-controlled command content without adequate neutralization; Poly has not published the affected command, parameter, or implementation detail. Access to a valid Telnet account is required, and successful exploitation provides privilege escalation and remote code execution on the conference station.
