Arbitrary file placement via unfiltered path characters
Published Oct 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Huawei PC Manager 11.1.1.97 allows attackers to place a transferred file at an attacker-chosen path. The file-transfer path handling fails to filter special characters before using the supplied destination path. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access and user interaction; Huawei does not identify the writable directory or resulting execution path.
