CVE-2021-37123

Unauthorized operations via insufficient identity validation

Published Oct 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper authentication in Huawei HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 before 1.0.0.200 allows remote attackers to perform unauthorized operations via crafted messages. The device insufficiently validates a user's identity when processing certain operations, allowing crafted Bluetooth messages to bypass intended authorization. Exploitation requires an attacker able to send messages to the device; the resulting scope is limited to operations the user should not be permitted to perform, with no more specific operation publicly disclosed.
