Application crash via unbounded image parsing
Published Oct 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Denial of service in Huawei EMUI 10.1.1 and 11.0.0 allows remote attackers to crash the Gallery or Files app with a crafted image. The image parser accepts images without enforcing a size limit, exhausting available memory while parsing image data. Network delivery is unauthenticated and requires no user interaction; successful exploitation is limited to terminating Gallery or Files.
