Cross-site scripting via CSRF-forged settings
Published Dec 20, 2021 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in the tarteaucitron.js WordPress plugin 1.5.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject script through settings. The tarteaucitronEmail and tarteaucitronPass settings accept attacker-controlled content from a forged request and render it without safe output handling. Exploitation requires an authenticated WordPress administrator to open attacker-controlled content; the injected script then executes in that administrator’s browser.
