Missing authentication in SUSE Longhorn before 1.1.3 and 1.2.0 through 1.2.2 allows remote attackers to execute binaries on cluster hosts. Privileged instance-manager pods run as root and expose a gRPC service on TCP port 8500 that accepts binary-execution requests without authentication. Exploitation requires control of a workload in the same Kubernetes cluster and grants code execution through a privileged pod on its node.
