CVE-2021-36774Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unsafe JDBC properties

Published Jan 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Deserialization in Apache Kylin 2.0.0 through 2.6.6 and 3.0.0-alpha through 3.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. Datasource configuration passes a user-supplied MySQL JDBC URL to the driver without restricting properties, allowing autoDeserialize to process objects returned by a malicious MySQL server. A Kylin account able to configure a JDBC data source and a server under the attacker's control are required; successful exploitation runs code in the Kylin server process.
