Authenticated vault access expansion via unvalidated tokens
Published Jul 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Incorrect authorization in 1Password Connect Server 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to exceed token vault restrictions. When consuming a manually crafted Secrets Automation token, the server fails to validate requested vault access and arbitrary token attributes against the creator's restrictions. The user must already be allowed to create tokens, and access remains bounded by the vaults authorized for that Secrets Automation.
