Unauthenticated XSS via unescaped forwarded address
Published Jul 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Nightscout Web Monitor 14.2.2 allows remote attackers to inject browser-executed content via X-Forwarded-For. The admin-notifies client concatenates the header-derived message into an HTML string instead of inserting it as text. Exploitation requires an administrator to view the resulting notification, allowing script execution within that browser session.
