CVE-2021-36749Network attack vector

Authenticated file-read via HTTP InputSource

Published Sep 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Incorrect authorization in Apache Druid before 0.22.0 allows remote authenticated users to read local files via HTTP InputSource URLs. The HTTP InputSource accepts a crafted file URL and opens it with Druid server-process privileges instead of enforcing the intended source restriction. The attacker must have authenticated access to submit an ingestion specification through an application that permits HTTP InputSource but blocks the Local InputSource; impact is confidential data disclosure.
