Unauthenticated code execution via malicious Tentacles package
Published Jul 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in the OctoBot WebInterface before 0.4.4 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted Tentacles package. The Tentacles upload handler accepts and installs attacker-supplied Python packages without restricting executable content. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation runs arbitrary code in the OctoBot host process context.
