Root command execution via unfiltered LED parameter
Published Aug 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Command injection in ProLink PRC2402M firmware 1.0.18 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The set_ledonoff function in adm.cgi passes the led_cmd HTTP POST parameter directly to do_system, a wrapper for system, without neutralization. Access to the authenticated administrative console is required; successful exploitation yields a root shell and full control of the router.
