Privilege escalation via unvalidated download links
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Deskpro cloud and on-premise 2021.1.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a manager's browser. The download-file feature accepts a javascript URL in a file download link without input validation and later renders it for a manager. Any authenticated non-admin user can plant the link; execution requires a manager to activate it and enables privilege escalation.
