Browser script execution via unescaped path parameter
Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Reflected XSS in KodExplorer 4.45 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a victim's browser through a crafted file-view URL. The app/template/api/view.html template writes the path query parameter directly into G.shareInfo without encoding or validation, allowing a closing script tag to inject a new script. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted URL; the script then runs in the KodExplorer origin and can expose the victim's session cookie or act with that session.
