Service interruption via eAut UDP reflection amplification
Published Jan 18, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Reflection amplification in the RUCKUS SmartZone eAut module allows remote attackers to interrupt another device via crafted UDP requests. The service on UDP port 9001 converts a malformed request smaller than 30 bytes into a 5,000–8,000-byte error response. Network access and source-address spoofing are required; reflected traffic consumes the victim's network capacity without altering controller data.
