Authenticated SQL execution via unescaped quicksearch parameter
Published Aug 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Naviwebs Navigate CMS 2.9 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter database data through quicksearch. The comments.php handler places quicksearch in a WHERE clause, while the shared protect function does not escape SQL special characters. A valid CMS session is required; a crafted UNION query can disclose stored records, delete tables, or obtain database-administrator rights.
