Open redirect via unvalidated error-handler destination
Published Dec 8, 2021 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Open redirect in Fortinet FortiWeb 6.4.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to proxy requests through the appliance. Error handlers accept crafted GET destination parameters without restricting redirects to trusted domains. Exploitation requires valid access and another user to follow the crafted URL; the resulting redirect can relay that browser to an attacker-controlled site.
