Database inconsistency via unsynchronized concurrent web requests
Published Nov 2, 2021 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Race condition in Fortinet FortiPortal before 6.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to leave customer database data inconsistent. The customer database interface fails to synchronize concurrent operations when specially coordinated web requests access a shared resource. Low-privilege portal access and precise request timing are required; successful exploitation leaves the underlying database in an inconsistent state.
