Authenticated code execution via CLI buffer overflow
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Fortinet FortiWeb 6.3.14 and earlier and 6.2.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The config backup CLI command processes crafted parameter values without enforcing the destination stack buffer's bounds. The path requires low-privilege CLI access from an adjacent network and results in unauthorized code or command execution on the appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
