Stored script injection via unsanitized metadata fields
Published Oct 6, 2021 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Stored XSS in Fortinet FortiWeb Manager 6.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through metadata fields. The affected sections accept name, description, or comments values without neutralizing script markup before rendering the saved content. An authenticated account can plant content that runs when another user views an affected section, allowing unauthorized browser-side actions without service interruption.
