Memory corruption via unchecked IRTE index
Published Jul 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Buffer overflow in ACRN Hypervisor 2.4 and earlier allows local users to corrupt hypervisor memory via a malicious interrupt-remapping index. dmar_free_irte accepted index values at or above CONFIG_MAX_IR_ENTRIES and used them to address the interrupt-remapping table and irte_alloc_bitmap. Exploitation requires local interaction with a path that supplies the index; published sources do not establish code execution or a specific service interruption.
