Endpoint crash via mismatched JPEG component count
Published Sep 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Netop Vision Pro 9.7.2 and earlier allows attackers to crash an endpoint via a malformed JPEG image. MeImgLoadJpeg in MeImg.dll allocates the copy destination for three JPEG color components but uses the header-supplied component count to calculate copy addresses. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access and a four-component image; the network path can reach student clients through the blank-screen feature, while loading it on a teacher client also crashes that client.
