Admin remote code execution via crafted file upload
Published Sep 1, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper input validation in Adobe Commerce 2.4.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with admin privileges to execute code. The API File Option Upload Extension accepts a specially crafted file without sufficient validation; Adobe has not disclosed the affected function or exact missing check. Administrative access is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code in the Commerce server context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
