Admin-level code execution via configurable-product XML injection
Published Sep 1, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
XML injection in Adobe Commerce 2.4.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with admin privileges to execute arbitrary code. The configurable-product save path accepts a specially crafted script as XML, but Adobe has not disclosed the responsible function or parser operation. Administrative access is required, and exploitation runs attacker-controlled code in the Commerce application context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
