CVE-2021-36005

Code execution via crafted PSD stack overflow

Published Aug 20, 2021 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Adobe Photoshop 21.2.9 and earlier and 22.4.2 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted PSD file. The PSD parser mishandles file data and overflows a stack buffer; Adobe has not identified the parsing routine or precise unsafe operation. Opening the file is required, and successful exploitation runs code with the current user’s privileges.
