Memory disclosure via uninitialized MP4 parser state
Published Sep 2, 2021 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Improper initialization in Adobe After Effects 18.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to disclose process memory via a crafted MP4 file. The MP4 parser accesses memory without properly initializing it before use, exposing residual data from the current process. Exploitation requires a victim to visit a malicious page or open the file; by itself, the flaw discloses process memory.
