Code execution via launchURL object use-after-free
Published Aug 20, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Use-after-free in Adobe Acrobat Reader allows remote attackers to execute code as the current user when a malicious PDF is opened. The launchURL method fails to verify that an object still exists before operating on it, allowing document content to reach a freed object. Exploitation requires the victim to open the crafted file, after which code runs with the victim's account privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
