Stored XSS via folder description rendering
Published Jun 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Plone 5.0 through 5.2.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in the folder contents view via a crafted description. The folder contents view renders a folder description containing a SCRIPT tag without adequate neutralization, so stored markup executes when an Editor opens the view. Exploitation requires a Contributor capable of creating the malicious folder and an Editor to view its contents; the documented impact is script execution in that viewer’s browser.
