Device outage via crafted characteristic value bytes
Published Dec 26, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Denial of service in Fastrack Reflex 2.0 firmware 90.89 allows remote attackers to cause an outage via a crafted characteristic value. Writing selected values in the final three bytes of the watch's Bluetooth characteristic crashes the tracker; it restarts after five minutes, but Bluetooth remains unavailable. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must be within Bluetooth range, and the demonstrated consequence is loss of device and network availability.
