Metadata disclosure via unchecked shareinfo permissions
Published Sep 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper authorization in ownCloud Server before 10.8.0 allows remote attackers to list file-drop metadata through the shareinfo API. The shareinfo controller fails to apply the permission check that normally prevents upload-only share visitors from seeing the share's contents. Reachability requires access to an upload-only share, and disclosure is limited to metadata because the bypass does not permit file downloads.
