Path and username disclosure via detailed errors
Published Sep 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in ownCloud Server before 10.8.0 allows remote attackers to view a share owner's username and internal path. The public-share controller handles certain invalid query characters by returning a detailed error containing the server-side path and share owner's username. A reachable public share link and a crafted query parameter are required; the disclosed values expose filesystem layout and account identity without changing files.
