Cross-host code execution via privileged job templates
Published Mar 23, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper authorization in Foreman Ansible 2.0.0 and later allows remote authenticated users to execute code on managed hosts. The job-template path does not confine execution to the host the user can access, so Ansible actions reach another registered host as foreman-proxy. Exploitation requires administrator-equivalent template permissions, at least two registered hosts, and prior access to the first host.
