Unauthenticated service crash via empty password
Published Oct 20, 2021 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Denial of service in Oracle Essbase Administration Services before 11.1.2.4.046 and 21.3 allows remote attackers to crash the EAS Console. The /eas/eas handler accepts a LoginSetPassword administration command whose current password parameter is empty and leaves the application unavailable. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted HTTP POST can hang or repeatedly crash the service, without reported data exposure or modification.
