Privileged database crash via undisclosed optimizer flaw
Published Oct 20, 2021 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.26 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hang or repeatedly crash the server. Oracle identifies the affected locus as the Server Optimizer but has not published the malformed query, optimizer operation, or other trigger. A highly privileged MySQL account and network access through a supported protocol are required; exploitation interrupts database availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
