CVE-2021-35530

Account takeover via session-token validation bypass

Published Jun 7, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Authentication bypass in Hitachi Energy TXpert Hub CoreTec 4 allows local users to reset an existing user's password and assume that account. The server executes a modified request because session-identifier token validation does not reject the unauthorized message before the password change. Exploitation requires local access and high privileges; a successful reset permits login as the targeted user and access under that account.
