Administrator code execution via ffmpeg path injection
Published Oct 5, 2021 · Updated Jul 4, 2026
OS command injection in Afian FileRun 2021.03.26 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through the ffmpeg path setting. The checkFFmpeg action passes the administrator-supplied path to a shell command without neutralizing metacharacters, so pipes and command substitutions execute attacker input. Access to the administrative backend is required, and injected commands run with the privileges of the web server user.
