Browser script execution via unescaped field data
Published Jun 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in MISP 2.4.144 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute browser script via crafted generic index data. The generic_field.ctp index-table view passes the first data value directly to output instead of HTML-escaping it. The attacker must place crafted data in a generic index field that MISP renders; the resulting script runs in the viewing user's browser.
