CVE-2021-35497Network attack vector

Administrative privilege escalation via unvalidated certificate SAN

Published Oct 5, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Certificate validation in affected TIBCO FTL Server releases allows remote authenticated users to obtain illegitimate client certificates. The certificate-issuance path accepts an FTL user's unvalidated subject alternative name and embeds it in a client certificate. A non-administrative FTL account and user interaction are required; the resulting certificate enables traffic interception or administrative privilege escalation.
