Administrator command execution via elevated file dialog
Published Jun 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Privilege escalation in Emote Interactive Remote Mouse 3.008 for Windows allows local users to execute arbitrary programs as Administrator. The Image Transfer Folder setting opens an elevated Save As dialog that accepts an executable path, so selecting cmd.exe starts an Administrator command prompt. A low-privileged local session with access to the tray application can use the dialog to run arbitrary commands with Administrator rights.
