Unauthenticated file read via static-path traversal
Published Aug 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Drogon 1.0.0-beta14 through 1.6.0 allows remote attackers to read restricted files through crafted HTTP paths. StaticFileRouter checks only for the embedded '/../' sequence before concatenating the requested path with the static-file root, without canonical containment validation. No authentication or user interaction is required, but a Drogon application must expose the affected static-file route; impact is limited to readable server files.
