Authenticated script execution via reflected SEARCH input
Published Jul 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in dotCMS 21.05.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute HTML in an administrator's browser via a crafted SEARCH value. The dotAdmin container and link search views place the SEARCH parameter into the rendered page without neutralizing attacker-controlled markup. Administrator access and user interaction are required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied script in the victim's dotCMS session.
