Post-logout access via cached JWT non-invalidation
Published Aug 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in Northern.tech Mender Enterprise 2.6.0 and 2.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to retain backend access. The useradm JWT verification cache does not invalidate a cached token at logout, so subsequent API requests continue to pass authentication. The flaw is reachable only when JWT verification caching is enabled and preserves the token holder’s existing access after logout.
