SYSTEM code execution via arbitrary alert-file write
Published Dec 20, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in SolarWinds Platform 2020.2.6 HF2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code as SYSTEM. The Log alert to a file action accepts user-supplied file data without proper validation and permits writes to any file. Orion alert management rights are required; successful exploitation can place arbitrary files and execute their contents with SYSTEM privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
