CVE-2021-35226Network attack vector

Encrypted credential disclosure via misconfigured SWIS entity

Published Oct 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Credential exposure in SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager 2020.2.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read encrypted passwords. A misconfigured NCM entity exposes its password field through the SolarWinds Information Service instead of withholding that credential data. Access requires authentication with an NCM role, and the disclosed credentials remain encrypted, limiting the direct consequence to exposure of encrypted password material.
