CVE-2021-35214

Account access via noninvalidated browser sessions

Published Oct 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Insufficient session expiration in SolarWinds Pingdom before 13.09.2021 allows physically proximate attackers to retain account access. The account-session handler leaves other active browser sessions valid when a user changes the account password or email address. Exploitation requires access to an already authenticated session and a separate user-initiated account change; the surviving session retains the victim account's existing permissions.
