Root command execution via telnet access bypass

Improper access control in Buffalo broadband router firmware allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to execute root OS commands. The firmware fails to enforce access restrictions when an unauthenticated request starts its telnet service, but public advisories do not disclose the responsible interface, request, or code path. Network adjacency is required; successful exploitation exposes a root command shell and permits complete device control.
