Local authorization bypass via expired identity credential
Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper authentication in Qualcomm Snapdragon identity credential allows local users to gain invalid HLOS authorization. The closed-source component accepts a timeout-based identity credential without correctly verifying whether its authentication remains valid. Low-privileged local access is required, but Qualcomm has not disclosed which HLOS resources or operations the invalid authorization exposes.
